Audio-Visual Group
Members of the AV Group are interested in combining static images with a sound track to create a structured sequence, in which the audio and visual elements are complementary, and the overall effect further enhanced. Each year, several meetings in the NDPS programme are specifically devoted to the activities of the Group. When possible, speakers active in this field are invited to show examples of their work or provide tutorial sessions.

Beginners Group
Organiser - Keith Garnham
Next Season the Beginners Special Interest Group will meet on a Monday evening and not on our regular Tuesday evenings. The group will meet once a month from Monday 3rd October 2011 and on the first Monday of every month at 7.30pm until May 2012. A total of eight monthly sessions. We will cover all the basics of digital imaging in general and Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Elements in particular. All the basics a photographer needs to know in order to improve an image through enhancing, manipulating or altering an image will be covered. A presentation will be given on the 6th September, the Opening Night of the 2011/12 Season, explaining in detail what the Beginners Group will cover.

Studio GroupOrganizer - Brian Ebbage FRPS
The Society has an active Studio Group and meetings usually take place at least once a month. These events are friendly and fun and quite often over subscribed. The studio shoots take place on Tuesday club evenings at Chapelfield although we may be holding some on other evenings in the week if the interest is there. A model and lighting are provided so all you need is a camera. Sessions last for 2 hours and the cost is shared between those taking part. Numbers are limited to provide adequate time to photograph the model. The number of photographers at any shoot is usually a maximum of 7 and the cost between £10 and £20 per member depending on the model and venue. These events are open to all members of the Society whatever their level of experience. Members new to studio photography are particularly encouraged and help is provided if needed. Sessions include portraiture ( male and female ) , figure , fashion , glamour and alternative as well as workshops on lighting and photoshopping models. We also occasionally take a look at work being produced. We also have model shoots on location. Some of the recent locations have included a medieval hall , derelict church , garage workshop , the beach and Victorian gardens. For more information or if you wish to be informed by email of forthcoming shoots please contact the organizer. |
